Holidays, Family, and MY AWESOME LIFE

My life rocks, I'm the luckiest girl the world, I could hardly be happier, I love my family so much, blah blah blah, you've heard it a thousand times but I can't stop thinking it, and I won't stop saying it. If I'm going to be a broken record, best to be stuck on these good points, right? (totally leeched that off my father, by the way. I like steeling quotes from my genius family :D)

So today we all went off together on a little walk through of cute itty bitty set ups of fairy tales with Christmas themes, and teddy bears, and pretty lights, and a place to donate cans for people who need food, and Santa Claus at the end. Tons of fun, really. The boys, my dearest little brothers, were absolute DOLLS (which was a pleasant surprise, since they’ve been rather tantrum-prone of late). I remember at the very end, Mrs. Claus came up to Brother2 (who had latched on to Daddy and was hiding in his shoulder, not daring to look up).

"I've got a Candy cane!" she said.

Brother2 snatched that candy in a blur, but he didn’t look up. He must have a sixth candy sense ;-)

Brother1 actually sat on Santa's lap, which surprised us all. He's not really that social when it comes to people he doesn't know very well.

"What do you want for Christmas?" Olde Saint Nick sayeth.

"I already got stuff," Brother1 replied cheerfully.

About then my heart melted. He's so happy, so complete - he doesn't have a single wish for Christmas. How wonderful is that? To know that your little brother is that happy. It just made my day.

I love the holiday spirit, I love the crisp winter air, I love caroling like there's no tomorrow with Dear Sister. I love dressing in thick cozy shirts and soft fluffy sweats. More than anything I love the people I'm with - how I scored such a fantastic family, I'll never know. Sheer dumb luck. And awesome genes, too, I guess. My parents picked well!

It's just amazing, because I admire each and every one of them. They're beautiful, in every way possible, and brilliant. They make my life so very wonderful and I'm so, so, so happy to be blessed with them.

I feel the need to express that in writing every so often. I'm not sure why, but... well, it's important to me. I want them to know how much they've shaped me. How much I love them. I want the world to know how happy I am, how blessed. I am so grateful, to everything there is to be grateful to.

I wish you all the best this holiday season, I'll send some love and some happy thoughts, too *blows a kiss* Expect to hear more from me! I've got a new story idea and will be ranting on it shortly, so be excited or run away screaming. You're pick.

Capturing Santa

This is a movie I made with Dear Sister and a friend of ours (just me) almost a year ago. We were just fooling around, but with a lot of editing (and I mean a lot) it's actually kind of cute. Tell me what you think!

Christmas Presents

Nana bought us a few presents... And they are AWESOME!

First, I have three tiny boxes of VEGAN truffles, I have Inkspell and Inkdeath (which I have been utterly longing for), I have Solas (a Celtic band I adore) CDs and one DVD of them playing, pen book marks and a pretty blue shirt.

Music, Books, Blue and Chocolate... You can't go wrong with that!

Friday FIllins #34

This week's Friday Fillins! This should be fun!

1. Said the night wind to the little lamb, pass the ketchup please, if you can?
2. The first Noel, the angel did say follow the star, on this blessed day.
3. It's snowing Over the hills and everywhere, so we must drive, with every care.
4. It came upon the midnight clear, a rain hard and loud to hear.
5. If you ever get down, and the world doesn't look so bright, just fake a handsome smile, and Let your heart be light.
6. It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas, Everywhere you go! There's a tree in the grand hotel, one in the park as well, the sturdy kind that doesn't mind the snow... oh! It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas, soon the bells will start... And the thing that will make them ring is the carol that you sing right within your heart! Right within, your, heart! (I just couldn't add new lyrics to this one)
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to maybe watching Journey to the Center of the Earth, tomorrow my plans include enjoying that Daddy is home ALL DAY(!!!), and Sunday, I want to have a great time with Nana! (she's coming over)

Fall and Halloween

Gosh, I can't believe summer is gone! Things are gonna be a lot different....

Still, I'm super excited about fall. When I step outside, I just feel that crisp, clean fall air... it's one of my favorite smells (pretty close to a spring day after it rains). I love that feeling you get, knowing that Halloween and Thanksgiving and Christmas and New Years Day are coming... knowing that it's fall, and knowing it's all changing.

Another reason why I love fall is the leaves. Oh, my, gosh I love the leaves. They are red, and orange, and yellow, and purple all mixed in with a few renegade greens... It makes me love driving, just so I can see all of the pretty colors.


As for Halloween....

Being Vegan, I probably won't go Trick-Or-Treating, though I'll definitely dress up, and maybe we'll have some kind of party. One Problem: WHAT CAN I BE?!?!?!?!?

I've been a Vampire(twice), a Ghost/Zombie Thing, Medusa (from ancient Greek mythology, she has snakes for hair and if you look at her you turn to stone) and a Harpy.

Assuming I really don't want to be a witch (that's sooo cliche, I want creative!), and I want to be something new, what can I be?

Besides my Halloween dilemma, I have high hopes for this fall, it's definitely one of my favorite seasons. I'll be sad to see it go.

CHRISTMAS!!!

I love the Christmas feel! It's so warm and cozy and magical... ahhh... best of all, Daddy get's to stay home for the whole day!

Mommy and Daddy got me two presents, they had me unwrap the big one first; guess what it was?

Sheets.

Yes, sheets. Sure they were really cozy sheets, but still sheets. Then they had me open the small one, guess what that its?

MIND TRAP II!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's like one of the BEST things they could have gotten me! (Mind Trap is a bunch of puzzles with loads of trick questions and brain benders, Mind Trap II has even more! I love trick questions and brain benders!) Dear Sister got a mini MP3 player, (I got one for my birthday) and Brother1 got three foam swords (thank goodness!). We had some yummy pumpkin bread topped with 'cream cheese' frosting and pecan praline (all made and mixed at home) for breakfast! It was sooooo good! Nana and Don should be coming over to hang out with us, and we might stop by Aunt Katie's house, Grandma Janie is staying there at the moment. Soon we'll start carroling like crazy! My favorite is deck the halls.

Last Day of Ballet

Today was the last day of my ballet until 2008!!! I can't believe this year went by so fast... But then again, at the end of every year I feel this way... (big sigh) On the last day of Ballet, your family can come and watch a class. Mommy and Daddy and Dear Sister and Brother1 & 2 all came to see me on the first part... but they had to leave later... (my slogan:) oh well... At least Nana and Don were able to stay! Don loves to take pictures--he took like a million of my class--so I'll post some pretty prictures of my ballet some time 2007.

Fall/Winter

I love the feel of fall/winter! I just took a smell of that cold air... Oh my! It feels like Thanksgiving and Christmas! I love the dark, moist air... the cool and starry nights... I keep forgetting how much I love winter and fall until they come around again! I can't wait until Thanksgiving... We're going to make a tofurky! It was SO delicious last year... My mouth is watering just thinking about it... And I'll make some chocolate pudding... yeah, that sounds good... Any way, for Halloween I'll be a harpy (half bird half woman). I'm not going to go trick-or-treating this year because I'm Vegan and I wouldn't like to be around so much candy. I am going to dress up and go to ballet for some Halloween class, it will be a lot of fun. I plan to make a cake! I love cooking. I make meals for my family all the time now, I made us pancakes for breakfast today. I hope you're as excited about fall as I am!
