2008, and 2009

2009... not quite there yet, but there aren't many minutes until then. Wow.

When '08 started, it felt like forever. Now it's practically gone, and '09 will seem like forever. It'll be a small slug, and then slowly pick up pace as the year goes on.

2008... the year I became a teen (YES!), the year Brother1 turned four (WHEN will I get used to that?! I still think he's 2 sometimes!), the year my beautiful sister had a spy party, the year I had my first Blogger Anniversary, the year my daddy got a new job, the year Brother2 turned one... the year I reached page 100 on K.o.D.... This wonderful, wonderful year.

Wow.

Anyways, I have a couple resolutions...
  1. Publish K.o.D. by Christmas (yes, I will do it this... er, next year)
  2. Learn 50 new words
  3. Be able to carry some sort of a conversation in Latin.
  4. My joint pains will be GONE
  5. Learn to play a five line piece on the piano--two handed!

I hope everyone had a wonderful 2008--and will have a better '09!!!

Christmas Presents

Nana bought us a few presents... And they are AWESOME!

First, I have three tiny boxes of VEGAN truffles, I have Inkspell and Inkdeath (which I have been utterly longing for), I have Solas (a Celtic band I adore) CDs and one DVD of them playing, pen book marks and a pretty blue shirt.

Music, Books, Blue and Chocolate... You can't go wrong with that!

Merry Christmas!

Wow... Christmas already? It really snuck up on me this year! Well, I wish you all this best on this special day!

Merry Christmas!

Friday FIllins #34

This week's Friday Fillins! This should be fun!

1. Said the night wind to the little lamb, pass the ketchup please, if you can?
2. The first Noel, the angel did say follow the star, on this blessed day.
3. It's snowing Over the hills and everywhere, so we must drive, with every care.
4. It came upon the midnight clear, a rain hard and loud to hear.
5. If you ever get down, and the world doesn't look so bright, just fake a handsome smile, and Let your heart be light.
6. It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas, Everywhere you go! There's a tree in the grand hotel, one in the park as well, the sturdy kind that doesn't mind the snow... oh! It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas, soon the bells will start... And the thing that will make them ring is the carol that you sing right within your heart! Right within, your, heart! (I just couldn't add new lyrics to this one)
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to maybe watching Journey to the Center of the Earth, tomorrow my plans include enjoying that Daddy is home ALL DAY(!!!), and Sunday, I want to have a great time with Nana! (she's coming over)

If you'd like to do your own Friday Fillins, find the link on my side-bar, or use this one.

Merry Christmas!

SNOW!

The first sticking snow of the year... oh, wow...

Daddy just came home from the store and told us it was snowing. I look out the back door and sure enough--SNOW!

I throw on the nearest shoes (which turned out to be Daddy's) and just ran--or, as close to running as I can do with these awful joint pains--out there for a few seconds... or more.

It was falling like crazy all over my glasses... falling from a deep blue-black sky, blessing the earth with it's gentle kiss... Now I'm cold to the very center of me from my little 'run around in the snow' without ANY snow gear at all (just shoes ten sizes too big and my shirt and pants) time, but it was so beautiful, and so worth it.

I love snow.

News on Kings of Darkness

I am so, so excited about my book! I'm at page 143. That's write--er, I mean, right--ONE HUNDRED FORTY THREE! I've never, ever, ever made it close to this far in a book, even though I must have 143 started story ideas on the computer somewhere.
I normally come up with an idea, type it for a while, get bored, come up with another idea, and months later stumble over the first, read it, then wish I'd typed more cause it was rather interesting, then not know what I was planning to do with the plot, and even if I do remember and get myself to type more of it, I get bored again really quickly.

It's different with K.o.D.. I'm actually really excited about finishing it. Really looking forwards to holding the finished story in my hands... Super excited about what my characters are going to do next.
Honestly, I hardly ever know what's to happen next. I believe in writing as you go along... You know, typing as you come up with ideas. True, I do have some things I know will happen, and some answers I'm waiting to pull out, but for the most part I don't know what I'm doing, and I think the story is more exciting because of it.

Last year I wanted to finish K.o.D. this year... I don't think there is much of a chance for that. I will, however, be surprised if by 2010 this book is not finished, and I expect it might even be published. Still, if I'm really lucky and type lots of pages a day, I just might be able to finish it in time for the new year. Highly unlikely, but definitely possible.

If you want to know the latest news on my book, I have an area on my side-bar dedicated to King of Darkness. It has how many pages I've written, a link to a 'sneak peak' of my book, and if there's anything else about K.o.D. I want to say, it's said there.

Please buy my book when it comes out!!!

If I was going to die...

I don't know why, but I've been thinking about how I would feel and what I would do if I found out I was going to die.

When I first found out about it, I would probably be quite shocked at first, then I'd cry for a while, then I'd realize that if I'm going to die soon, I'd better have the best time of my life RIGHT NOW.

My number one worry would be how sad my family would be when I was gone, so I'd probably spend a lot of time trying to convince them not to worry. Don't get me wrong, I don't want to die, I want to live to 154 and see my great grandkids, but I'm not scared of death... I'm actually sort of looking forwards to the rest after a hopefully long and happy life.

I'd probably type Kings of Darkness up like crazy... I'd have to condense all the four books I plan to write into one, and I might not even finish that in time. I would probably ask Dear Sister to finish it for me.

Another worry of mine is that Brother1 and 2 wouldn't remember me. That would devastate me. I'd want to be a part of their life... Someone that they would love and adore and remember forever. Brother1 would probably remember me a bit, but #2...

Anyways, what got me thinking of this? I don't know. But, I'm definitely glad I'm going to live!

Happy Thanksgiving!

I love thanksgiving. My favorite part is that Daddy gets to stay home for FOUR WHOLE DAYS!!!!!!!!! It's wonderful.
Also, I love the food. Normally, we would make a divine vegan thanksgiving (with tofurky--my personal favorite--and corn and mashed potatoes and bunches of other stuff), but we're all going on a diet for my joint pains so we're sort of skipping that part.

Things to be thankful for:
  1. My most wonderful family.
  2. A nice cozy house.
  3. A computer (hehe).
  4. That I have delicious and healthy food.
  5. That the sky is blue (I love that color; if it were any other it just wouldn't be right).
  6. That Nana is coming over today.
  7. That Dear Sister and I are so very close.
  8. That my two little brothers are so wonderful.
  9. That my parents are so supporting and loving.
  10. And most of all, I'm thankful to be me. I wouldn't be anyone else, anywhere else, for anything.

Red Rose and Piano

A long time ago, I took up the Violin. I still think it's one of the most beautiful sounding instruments in the world, but I wasn't able to keep up with it... The teacher we had loved was replaced, and things just kept coming up until it had been quite a few years since I played a note on that wonderful instrument.

Dear Sister and I have a band--Red Rose--and we have some pretty cool songs down. Unfortunately, we don't have any music, just vocals. Rose started learning guitar recently, and we were hoping she could play for our band. As lovely as a guitar sounds, we both thought there should be something more... I'm not sure exactly how it was brought up, but somehow, we all ('we all' being my family and I) started thinking about me learning to play piano... and it just so happens that Dear Sister's and my Singing Instructor also teaches that instrument! It was so convenient we couldn't resist, and now I'm learning to play. It's really confusing, trying to get my hands to play different parts, but I think I'm getting it! Hopefully Rose and I will get good enough with our respective instruments that we can actually write some music for our songs... maybe I'll post one, one of these days...

With love,

Friday Fillins #32

Here we go! Another round of Friday Fillins!

1. The last band I saw live was River Dance, quite a few years ago, if that counts.
2. What I look forward to most on Thanksgiving is that wonderful holiday feel!(if you don't celebrate thanksgiving, insert your favorite holiday)
3. My Christmas/holiday shopping is stressful, usually, but the holidays are worth it.
4. Thoughts of joy, love and laughter fill my head.
5. I wish I could wear thick sweats and a flattering turtleneck so I could be warm, but unfortunately, I'm clear out of both. We need to do the laundry.
6. Bagpipes sound really cool, I think.
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to hanging out with Daddy and eating some pizza (no cheese, no meat of course) tomorrow my plans include spending the night with Nana (YEAH!!!) and Sunday, I want to be wonderfully happy to come home (which no doubt I will)!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm...

I've been making waffles for breakfast a lot lately, and I'm actually getting pretty good at it. It's taken quite a bit, but I think I finally have it down, and combined with Mom's almond-buttery-just-perfectly-cinnamony syrup, you've got something really good.

Something else that's absolutely divine is some home made Caroboca (hot coca, only with carob, and soymilk instead of chocolate and milk. We didn't have any chocolate so we used the carob) with a hand-made Candy Cane from Fred Meyers, either suck the drink through the candy cane, or just dip it.

Mmmmmmmm....

I want learn it! I just dive into the words and come out with knowledge... I've never been this absorbed in a non-fiction book in my entire life. I'm amazed.

My Book Blog

I've had a book blog--A Book Worm's Journey--for quite some time, but I've never made an official "Post" about it, so here it is!

I started my book blog so I could keep track of the books I read, and see which ones I liked. I also made it so other people could skip over books they wouldn't like, and find books they might. My opinion to certain stories isn't necessarily the same that others would have, so I try to make my reviews describe about the details of the book, so you could decide whether or not it's your type, rather than just saying "this is a good book. I really liked it. Read it now." or "I hated this book. It's a real dud.".

Anyways, there's a link on my side-bar, as well as on this post, so hopefully you can come and see it!

Saturday: Including A Hike and Visiting Family

Yesterday we all went for a hike. Nana came over for a short visit before we left, but couldn't come because of her work.

The hike was really wonderful... besides this small building you could use to 'use the restroom' that had the worst smell you could possibly imagine (bad enough to make Mommy throw-up, and I am not exaggerating), and some feces that looked human on the ground (we think someone really had to go, but couldn't possibly have gone in there. I could almost empathise).
There were beautiful waterfalls, gorgeous trees, a good spot to stop and eat and some bridges that we couldn't help marching over (...until they started shaking like they would brake). We couldn't stay that long, since we had gotten up to a late start and it was nearly dark, but it was wonderful what we could do.

On our way back home we stopped by Aunt Katie and Uncle Bill's house, where Grandma Janie and Grandpa Ken are staying, and hung out with all of them for a while. Daddy's older sister stopped by with one of my cousins, and they stayed until we left.

I had a great time, yesterday! Hopefully you did too!

Friday Fillins #31

1. Please feel free to comment on my blog! I always love that!
2. When I bring Mom and Dad their coffee I can't help sniffing it occasionally. I just love the smell, though I doubt I'll ever drink the stuff.
3. My favorite thing to cook is probably cookies, though waffles are loads of fun too.
4. Laughter is something I can't get enough of.
5. That's the thing I love most about life, the fact you can do anything with it.
6. Dear Sister's wonderful goofiness always makes me think to myself, what the heck?
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to a MIDnight with Froggy and her brother (you might have seen her comment now and then), tomorrow my plans include going on a hike with Nana and maybe seeing Grandma Janie and Sunday, I want to have a ball!

Have a simply fantastic amazingly wonderful strangely spontaneous and weirdly glorious weekend!

Oh, thank god...

I've mentioned this now and then, but not that often, and I suppose it would be easy for you to missed this, since I haven't said much about it. But the fact of the matter is that I have been having joint pains since very early July. Yes, July.
It makes it hard me to move, painful to walk, type and pick up heavy objects, unable to dance Ballet, impossible to run, has me moving like a cripple of sorts and causes me a good amount of pain. I try not to think about it much, and I suppose that's why I don't post about it often; I don't want to be reminded of it. Every once in a while I brake down... and I think about how I used to move, like a ballerina, like a gazelle, leaping and running all over. I remember days when I could fold myself in half practically, and lift my leg not that far from my ear. I was so flexible, and strong... I was always proud of my strength, slightly-toned arms and great flexibility, and took every opportunity to show it off. Now it takes effort to even clamber on top of my bed (it is a high bed, I guess. All the way up to my hip bones, but that doesn't really matter. I used to get up without any trouble with my old flexibility)!

I suppose you're wondering why this post is titled 'Oh, thank god...' when the subject of this post sounds like it should be titled 'Why?', or 'How long must I go through this?' or 'Me whining uncontrollably'? Well, Mommy got me in for an appointment with a specialist this Tuesday, and I'm hoping against hope that he will help. Mom has been trying for a while now, but it's just taken a long time to find an opening.

I really am very, very grateful to the world. I have it much better than most anyone in the entire globe, in my opinion. I have a wonderful sister, two adorable brothers and two parents who love me more than anything. I just wish this would go away.

IT'S OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh, my, gosh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hooray!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What on this earth took me so long to CHECK?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!??!

*Jumping, dancing, screaming, singing, leaping, laughing... et cetera (which means 'and the remaining things' in Latin, by the way)*

Inkdeath is out. Inkdeath is out. INKDEATH IS OUT.

I've got to put that book on hold... I've been waiting so, so long for it... I just can't believe it. I knew it was coming out some time around now, but I didn't realize it ALREADY WAS! Me oh my oh gosh...

On another topic, I'm typing K.o.D. again (yes, I took a break... I just wasn't sure what to do after the Nymphs, but now I think I'm going to bring in some boats! That should be fun, hehe)... and I'm super excited! Seeing that Inkdeath is out(!!!!!!!!!!) is really inspiring me to right more, for some strange reason. I intend to read Ms. Funke's book, and hopefully find some inspiration for my own book...

It's strange, because Kings of Darkness is ending up being an original story, but it has these... elements from books I've read and loved... The Villain, King Ronan, seems to remind me of Capricorn (the villain from Inkheart, one of the predecessors to Inkdeath), the feel of the book (though definitely different) makes me think of Alagaseia(sp?) from the Inheritance series. The Ma'Ge, mysterious, old and warm makes me think of Dumbledore, from Harry Potter, and other little things remind me of other books... Certainly, my book isn't a copy of anything, it's just got some cool elements from other stories. It's neat to see that what I've read affects what I write...
And, I thought I'd let you know, I've dropped the whole idea of my book having 200 pages. It could easily end up being that amount, it's not like I have too much story, it's just that that doesn't seem like enough... enough to make you love May, Fredric, Darren and Gloria... enough to make you care about Glorsifil, and the Rebels' fight for freedom, enough to make you hate Ronan with an amazing fire, and enough to get you hooked enough to buy the next book.

ANYWAYS, it's coming along great and I can't wait to finish it!

And I can't wait to read Inkdeath!

Semper Fidelis

As you might remember from this post, I'm attempting to learn Latin. I'm starting to grasp the grammar (which is rather confusing since you could say the words in almost any order you could possibly want) and learned quite a few words... I'm even getting to more complex sentences, such as these ones*....

Puella est portat aquam ad agricolam.

The girl is carrying water to the farmer.

Here's another one....

Nauta est navigat (the 'v' sounds like a 'w') circum (the 'c' sounds like a 'k') insulas (the 'i' like the 'ee' in sweet) ad patria.

The sailor is sailing around the islands to the homeland.

I've been trying to write a song in this forgotten tongue, but it's rather hard... I've got something of a melody, but it's a little repetitious and boring, and if you are going to write a song in a different language that no one can understand, the melody had better be pretty darn beautiful and exciting. Maybe I'll post it up when it's done....

Anyways, my Grandparents (on Daddy's side) have come down so I'm very excited to see them! They came and visited yesterday (with some awesome toy trucks they had made by hand for both brothers , and a couple pretty boxes and two necklaces they had made for Dear Sister and I), but we should get together again soon!

And why did I call this post Semper Fidelis? 'Cause it's a Latin phrase (meaning "always faithful") that I think sounds absolutely beautiful, and it's the name of my song.

Galaxy

*Please note that I composed these sentences in proper English order in case you wanted to translate them. Also note that there is no 'a', 'an', or 'the' in the Latin language, so you have to add it in yourself, and that there are also little marky thingys that go above some letters in some words that I am unable to add since I am using blogger to write this.

5. I'd like to tell you about how positively lucky I am.

Why?

Everyone is sick.

Yes, everyone.

Except me.

Today I was supposed to (not to mention immensely looking forwards to) go to a drama club and rehearse a skit at Gym Day (which is now on Fridays), have a MIDnight (Murder In the Dark-night) with some friends and have a load of fun doing it all. So now I can't go anywhere and it's very likely I'll get sick myself. Not to mention that for some strange reason I am really, really hot... I'm just rather upset right now. I've been looking forwards to this for a long time, especially since we missed last Gym Day (I'm not including Halloween).

Waffles, Frustration, and a Name At Last!

I've been trying to think of something to post about... unsuccessfully. It's quite frustrating, I mean, how can I post stuff if I can't think of anything to post?

Anyways, we just recently bought a waffle maker that is pretty okay. It makes nice big Belgian waffles, to be sure, and it cooks well enough (not to mention with a timer), and isn't too hard to clean... on the down side, it rips the waffles in half pretty often (not in half, but into two circles, the top of the waffle, and the bottom, not the left and right) and it's a bit tough to get them out (they don't stick, it's just it's hard to pull them out), besides that, it's pretty cool! Unfortunately, I probably won't be making them for a few days since we ran out of syrup, even though we dilute it with yummy things like almond butter, soy milk and cinnamon... time takes it's toll! Maybe we'll come up with some other toppings...

How is my movie coming? You probably aren't wondering that, but I'll tell you anyways: Slowly. I've got it all down, but I still have editing to do, and it takes time... *sigh* Oh, and I think I have a name for it! With Dear Sister's help, this is what I came up with:

Duel of Power

It's actually a pun, because 'duel' means 'two' in a different language, so that would be "Two of Power", and Duel also means a fight, so "Fight of Power", and there is both in the movie. Still, it's under debate... What do you think of the name? I'm not quite set on it yet, and your opinion would be invaluable!!!

Thanks!

Eragon, the movie

If you plan to see the movie, and have read the book, DO NOT SEE IT!!!!!!!!!!!! The movie butchers the story, butchers it, Arya actually flirts with Eragon, she has blond hair, and her ears are round, the Ra'Zac actually get killed, and you hardly see Murtagh, who is one of the better characters, in my opinion. Not to mention they cut out most of Nasuada, and her friendship with Murtagh, and Katrina out all together. They ruined the character of Angela, Durza has a stupid 'creepy nail thing' going on, the Urgals are just stupid, bulky men--no horns, no differently colored skin, just stupid, bulky men! And it was just a bad movie on its own.

If you have not read the book, and plan to watch the movie, read the book instead. Awful show.

Why am I saying this months after I watched the show? Because I just happened to be thinking about it because of my poll (the one that you choose which series you liked better, Inheritance or Harry Potter--I like Inheritance).

Galaxy

P.S. Did I happen to mention that the book is one of the best books in the world? It is, which is why I'm so frustrated with this awful movie.

Halloween '08--Part #1

So I got out of bed around 10:00 today, though I was awake much earlier. Mostly, we've just eaten breakfast and worked on our Costumes. Rose's is really cool, and I'd tell you what it was, but she asked me not to. You'll have to check her blog sometime soon to find out, I guess.

As for me, I'm probably just going to be Anne Boleyn, and not her ghost... it just ended up that way. We're working on making a headpiece, but I already have the perfect dress. The Neckline is just like what they wore!
As for jewelry, I have some fake pearls (she wore real ones) I don't have any gold chains (something else I've seen in her pictures) so some goldy-greeny necklace (that is very lovely, by the way) that goes with my dress will do.

Daddy should be coming home from work at around 3:15, which I'm very excited about! Halloween is going to be so fun!

Friday Fillins #29

Alrighty, then... This week's Friday Fillins!

1. My favorite food seasoning is probably salt...
2. Brother1 & 2 laughing is music to my ears.
3. Lucky is something I am.
4. Giving a hundred and ten percent of my energy to whatever it is I am doing, and continuing until I drop or I finish is something I take very seriously.
5. Many people think that Vegans are missing out on a lot, I feel that they are.
6. The Sims 2 Freetime expansion pack for Rose's 11th birthday was the last thing I bought at the store.
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to Daddy coming home early, watching Arabian Nights, dressing up, baking and eating treats and walking around town to see Halloween decorations, tomorrow my plans include maybe going to a Potluck and Sunday, I want to have fun!

Halloween

Golly... is it really only the day after tomorrow?! Ikes....

As you know, (if you read this post) I plan to be the ghost of Anne Boleyn (the second wife of King Henry VIII, who he had executed), but I don't think I mentioned that Brother1 intends to be a Bumble Bee (oh, gosh he is so cute when he's a Bumble Bee!!!), Rose might be the Kissy Monster (Brother1's idea), Some-One-Who-Didn't-Dress-Up-For-Halloween, or something else she thinks up at the last minute. Mommy is going to be a Harried Mother by wearing pajamas, messing her hair up and looking dazed... I'm not sure what Brother2 will end up being, or Daddy, but I'm sure we'll think of something.

Since we're vegan, we probably won't go trick-or-treating, but we definitely will celebrate! We plan to watch Arabian Nights (you know, that story about the crazy sultan who gets a new wife everyday and then executes her so she can't betray him... but then he marries Scheherazde, and she tells him a new story every night, but never finishes them in the same day, so the sultan is left in suspense, and if he has her killed, he'll never know what happens next. The movie is basically the many stories she tells, and a bit about her story), listen and dance to Halloween-ee music, make a few treats, dress up and walk about the streets to see Halloween decorations.

Anyways, I'm really really excited and just can't wait!

Happy Halloween!

P.S. I'd like to see what you are going to be for Halloween... it'd be nice if you could comment it for me!

The Nameless Movie

Alright, then. What have I been doing the last few days?

I'll answer that:

Typing, typing, and typing.

Ever since some time around the 20th, I've been typing up a movie idea I had. Once I had finished The Rose of Gondor (that movie I was working on) with a bunch of friends, I'd been wanting to make one for myself (I was just in that one, and didn't actual write the script or direct or film, though it definitely was a lot of fun!), so Dear Sister and I started talking about plot ideas, and I came up with something and typed up the first couple of scenes. When I showed it to Rose, though, she didn't like the idea. But by then I was too into it to stop, so I decided that I would write it anyways, if only for my own fun. So now I have finished it, and it's 20-something pages long... I still have some editing to do, and I haven't figured out the title, but I think it will be done soon. Here's the basic plot: (Mommy, Daddy, it'd be nice if you didn't read this part, I put it all in italics so you can skip over it)

A few years after a great civil war led by the evil Sorceress Nydain, the King dies in the land of Fardric, leaving his adopted son, Prince Ivan, to choose the new King or Queen (since he is adopted, he cannot take the throne). Unfortunately, all of the candidates are selfish and greedy, not fit to rule.
Meanwhile, Ivan's childhood friend Annavel (no, that was not a typo, Anna-Vel) is searching for the 'Del Child', someone she heard of in a prophecy, and who could have saved the King had Annavel found her in time. Eventually, she finds the Del Child in the form of a peasant girl named Elia, a girl of strange and extraordinary powers, who is quite frightened by them.
Unfortunately, Nydain wants to find Elia and steal her powers with a special spell that she is trying to find. She kidnaps Elia eventually, and Ivan, Annavel, and Elaine (Elia's tough country mother) have to save her.

I'm rather proud of the script, actually, and I really hope it turns out well! I want to get some people from The Rose of Gondor to help me with it, since they have a bit more experience than I, but I think that this will be a blast, and Dear Sister has volunteered for the part of Elia, though what she thinks of the movie is impossible to tell (she is sooooo indecisive).... Anyways, I'm not just considering her because she is my sister. Rose is one of the best actresses I know, and I'm not just saying that... she can really become someone else, and I'd be really glad to have her up in the main trio of characters (Ivan, Annavel, and Elia).

Anyways, hopefully I'll be able to pull this all together! I'm really looking forwards to it!

I have decided!

Yes, everyone, I at last know what I'm going to be for Halloween!

Not a Fairy... (I was one when I was six)

Not a Vampire... (did that... twice)

Not a Witch... (too cliche)

Not Medusa... (honestly, getting the snakes out of my hair was worse then getting my hair up for a ballet recital. That's saying something. I am never doing that AGAIN!)

Not a Harpy... (I was that last year)

Not a Ghost... well, actually, I am a ghost, but a bit more specific...

I will be The Ghost of Anne Boleyn!

You probably know who she is, but I didn't until I read Shakespeare's Secret (which was fairly recently) so I'll just say a few things about her:

She was the second wife of King Henry VIII (the 8th), mother to Queen Elizabeth I (the first), and was beheaded for adultery to the King. Whether or not those charges were true is under speculation... there really isn't a way to know for sure. Supposedly she was cheating on King Henry with five different men (it might have been four... I am uncertain), one of which was her brother (rather weird, right?). All of them (one might have been spared, but I'm pretty sure all of them) were beheaded. Including Anne.
Probably the main reason for her execution was that she never gave birth to a boy, just one girl, Elizabeth. She did get pregnant at least one other time, but the children never made it.

King Henry had four other wives after Anne, and one before. He had three children together, a daughter named Mary (with his first wife, Catherine of Aragon--how do you spell that? I ), Elizabeth (Anne Boleyn's girl, who only saw her mother in her youngest years), and a boy, Edward (can't remember his mom. I get them confused) and three of his six wives were named Catherine (though they differed on the spelling).

I've liked Anne since I first read about her... she seemed smart, kind and brave to me from what I know about her. I think it will be a lot of fun to be her ghost for this Halloween, and I plan to do a big bloody gash on my neck where my head had been 'chopped off'.

P.S. I'm not really certain of what kind of costume I'll wear, so suggestions would be much appreciated!!!

If you like my blog...

...then here's a blog you probably should go to:

Me In General (me-in-general.blogspot.com)

This is Dear Sister's blog, and if you regularly read my blog, then you've read her name quite often. Her posts often coincide with mine, as we both do a lot together (e.g. when we both posted about a vacation-ish thing). And sometimes, I even rely on her to put up information that I don't.

I posted this post because it just occurred to me that someone might be reading my blog, and not my sister's... so, I thought I'd post this so you could find her blog, and hopefully stop by! If you do like my blog, you should definitely check her's out.

I love you, Rosi!!!

My Blogiversary--One Year

Wow... a whole year.

Yes, everyone, my first posts were made on 10/14/07. Well, now it's 10/14/08. Exactly one year later.

It's really hard to believe... yet somehow it feels like I've been doing this forever... So very odd, isn't it? Now, looking back on my old posts, it's rather strange reading what I said, and knowing that I wrote that. That's the weirdest.

So now I feel as if I should write something poetic, or inspirational or something... yet I really can't think of anything to say... I just am grateful I can catalog my life, so that I can look back on the silly little me years from now. Gosh... what will I think of myself ten years from now? How will I feel when I look at this post and see this writing? This anniversary of my Galaxy is truly a wake-up call to the passage of time. Time certainly flies...

Happy blogiversary, me!

Galaxy

P.S. Speaking of time, in 2013 I'll be 18. Now that's freaky!

And my hopes are restored (almost)!

If this post doesn't make sense, see this one, this one, and this one.

Okay, so some other friends called and we decided to meet on Wednesday for D&D anyways... It won't be as fun, but we've been waiting so long it doesn't really matter. The missing people's characters will be kidnapped for a bit! (hehehe...)

Hoping, hoping, and hoping and hoping!!!

For the past couple of months (at least it feels like it... I'm pretty sure it has been at least one month, though), Dear Sister and I have been trying to get together a game of D&D (see this post for information on the game). Every time we set a date, either one of us gets sick, or something else comes up and we can't do it. It's as if Fate doesn't want us to play!

Last week we'd gotten so fed up with Fate that we decided to have two games in one week, only separated by one day and to have those games last for a loooooooooooooooooong time. Well, if you've been reading my posts then you know that it's just last week that Dear Sister, Brother1, Brother2 and I all got sick. And one of our other friends got sick, just in case we got better.

Anyways, we're planning on playing this Wednesday... hopefully everyone will be healthy then, and nothing will come up... Fate, please have some mercy!!!

A Wonderful Movie

Being sick, and not having much else to do, Dear Sister and I decided we'd watch an instant movie on Netflix. After going through many duds (including "Grease 2", ick!), we came to "It Could Happen To You", and decided to give it a try because we were looking for a romantic comedy (it didn't hurt that Nicholas Cage starred in it, you gotta love him).

The plot is about this police officer who doesn't have enough money to tip this waitress, so he promises her double the tip the next day, or half of his lottery ticket if he wins anything. Well, he hits the jackpot at fourmillion, but his money hungry wife (who has one of the most annoying voices known to humanity) wants to keep all the money.

Near the end, the movie seems like it's not going to end well, and Rose and I were simply furious, and rather close to tears (okay, we were teary), but then they turned it around and it ended in such a sweet and wonderful and amazing way that we weren't just teary. It was a fabulous, sweet and simple movie that I don't think I'll ever forget, and it was based on a true story. Just thought I'd mention it.

The sweetest thing in existance...

...lives in my house. He is my brother, and he is amazing.

Earlier today I asked Brother1 if he'd love me forever. He said he'd have to 'sink' (how he says 'think') about it.
So, I was just sitting on a big comfy arm-chair hours later (I had completely forgotten about the incident) when Brother1, with a big beautiful smile, climbs up and cuddles me (this is a real something on it's own; he usually only cuddles with Daddy) and says:

"I had to sink about if I would love you forever for a long time. And my answer is yyyyes!"
"REALLY?!" I say in my oh-my-gosh-you-are-the-most-wonderful-thing-in-the-world tone.
"Yes, and I'll never stop loving you, and I'll love you 'til I die and I'll still love you while I die, and I love you, and I'll never un-love you..." and then he started hugging me while he continued to tell me how he'd love me forever. How cute and amazing and wonderfully he said this all and more is impossible to put in writing... I'll I can say is I'll love him forever, and apparently, he'll love me too!

I really don't know how I got so lucky.

AT LAST!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh, my, gosh. You don't know how long I've been waiting for this. Years. Bunches of aching months. All the while, needing and waiting and hoping for the next book.

And now, I have it, and I'm reading it, and I'm loving it, and I'm already over halfway through! I honestly don't know how I'm going to handle it being over... I mean, I've been waiting so long and then it's going to be gone like that! I just can't take it!
How did I find it? Where did I get it? Did I by or rent it?
Well, we were walking through Costco (rather quickly, as the store was closing) when we passed the book section. I almost walked by it when I saw that beautiful golden dragon and the word Brisingr on a book, and I grabbed it. Then I ran up to by parents, started jumping up and down, but the moment I asked if we could get it, Mom lifted up her hand, and within it was the very same book. I smiled and put my copy back. Mom really knows me.

I own the entire Inheritance series, not including the next one to come. And before Brisingr came out, I had read the entire series five times plus. Personally, I believe these books are better than Harry Potter. Then again, I don't really like the whole Harry Potter series as much as most do.
How is the book so far?
Well, the first ten-ish pages are not very enjoyable, well written, but I didn't like it, then the rest of the chapter was just grand, full of action (the destruction of most of the Ra'zac, FINALLY) and a bit of romance between Katrina and Roran. I almost cried, but then again, it's easy to make me do so.

After Eragon killed the other Ra'zac, the book got a little weird. It just didn't make much sense, especially the part where Eragon decides to eat meat again. He goes from being utterly repulsed by it, to eating it frequently in the story... it was just weird and I think that if Mr. Paolini intended him to eat meat, he shouldn't have through the whole vegetarian phase. I also didn't like the Sloan part too much, but it wasn't really bad.

After that happens, things go wonderfully and the book gets great. Action, adventure, battles... It really is a fabulous book and I can barely put it down long enough to make this post.
As for my predictions for the future... I think Murtagh might be a shade, as he has improved strength, and there was another hint to that fact from this weird guy who had some sort of vision. I'm probably wrong (because why would Thorn serve a shade?) but it would make me feel better if he was, and it would make more sense as to how he could act that way. I never liked him being a bad guy. Murtagh was one of my favorite characters... not too far from Eragon. I just couldn't bare it, and it broke my heart in the ending of the second book, Eldest. I'm still hoping for him to go back to his good old humorous and fun and kind self. Hear that Christopher (the author, for those of you who don't know)? Bring back Murtagh(please)!

Also, I'm positive that Oromis is going to die. I know Oromis is going to die. I'm preparing myself, and if he doesn't die, I will be very, very surprised, and rather happy, if he does die, I will be prepared (then again, I was 'prepared' for Dumbledore to die in the Harry Potter books, but when he did I cried like a baby... it was just so sad!).

So, overall, what do I think of the book so far? It's grand, entertaining, wonderful, adventurous, humorous... I just love it. I love, love, love it! Gosh, I really don't know what I'm going to do when it's over... *sigh*
Okay... I guess that's all I have to say--besides to tell you to run the nearest store possible and BUY THIS BOOK!

Baking Blueberry Muffins With Brother1

I made muffins for breakfast a couple of days ago and thought I'd post about it... and yes, I did do some of the work, Brother1 isn't responsible for all of it!

First I had to grind up some oat flour...

Mix that with some salt and baking powder...

I almost forgot about the blueberries, hehe.

Now the maple syrup, water, and pumpkin (a fitting fruit for fall, I thought)
Somebody's stealing a taste...
Now the long half-hour wait...

Here we go, Friday fill ins!

1.Halloween and fall leaves are some of the things I'm most looking forward to in October.
2. Sometimes I wonder what it would be like to live in the old ages, but I always end up thanking the Lord I live now.
3. If you think you can or you can't, your right (that's my dad's favorite saying!), and that's why there is a saying, "never say never"!
4. When I'm down, I find it hard to hide it, and most people can guess it in a matter of seconds. The thing is, I'm very energetic, and when I'm down I'm not, so it's pretty noticeable.
5. In my home is where you'll find me most often.
6. A rainy day is good for Rainbows (such beautiful things...), and nice walks just after it (for the sweet, fresh air).
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I’m looking forward to Daddy coming home, tomorrow my plans include nothing, really, and Sunday, I want to hang out!

I guess that's it! Happy weekend, and happy fall!

Fall and Halloween

Gosh, I can't believe summer is gone! Things are gonna be a lot different....

Still, I'm super excited about fall. When I step outside, I just feel that crisp, clean fall air... it's one of my favorite smells (pretty close to a spring day after it rains). I love that feeling you get, knowing that Halloween and Thanksgiving and Christmas and New Years Day are coming... knowing that it's fall, and knowing it's all changing.

Another reason why I love fall is the leaves. Oh, my, gosh I love the leaves. They are red, and orange, and yellow, and purple all mixed in with a few renegade greens... It makes me love driving, just so I can see all of the pretty colors.

As for Halloween....

Being Vegan, I probably won't go Trick-Or-Treating, though I'll definitely dress up, and maybe we'll have some kind of party. One Problem: WHAT CAN I BE?!?!?!?!?

I've been a Vampire(twice), a Ghost/Zombie Thing, Medusa (from ancient Greek mythology, she has snakes for hair and if you look at her you turn to stone) and a Harpy.

Assuming I really don't want to be a witch (that's sooo cliche, I want creative!), and I want to be something new, what can I be?

Besides my Halloween dilemma, I have high hopes for this fall, it's definitely one of my favorite seasons. I'll be sad to see it go.

Friday Fillins #23

It's sort of on Friday.

1. There is no need to grieve for movie/tv series characters, but somehow we find ourselves doing so anyway.
2. Where in the heck did the book I was reading go?
3. Only a little bit of Kings of Darkness typing is all I managed to do... *sigh*.
4. Prospects for finishing K.o.D. are fairly high.
5. "Libraries make the world go 'round" is the message.
6. Simplicity and tranquility are wonderful things to have.
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I’m looking forward to watching Eureka, tomorrow my plans include going to a fun place with Nana and the rest of the fam (except Daddy Dearest) and Sunday, I want to relax!

The Phantom of the Opera and my Gorgeous Gown

So here is a picture of me, the day before my birthday, in a beautiful dress right before I head off with Daddy and Dear Sister to see the Phantom of the Opera.

The show was fabulous, and the effects were amazing, the costumes extravagant, the acting realistic... It was a wonderful show, but I didn't like how they changed some lines in 'Think of Me' and other songs and how they would be singing in some places when they were supposed to be talking... They also tried to make it more of an 'operatic' style, and didn't have them sing it strait. There was way too much vibrato and some of the songs just weren't as pure, or sweet, or enchanting (and I almost mean literally enchanting... the music from this play is really amazing) as they were in the original with that style... it may be called 'The Phantom of the Opera', but I think it's better as a musical.

With that being said, it was a great show and I'm so glad I had a chance to see it!

Six and Sick

Well, as you probably know with all of my birthday posts, my birthday is in six days. I'm very very excited, but I almost wish that it wasn't because yesterday Brother1 & 2, Dear Sister, and myself caught a cold.

As you most likely know if you're a regular reader of my blog, my Clan has just recovered from a really bad case of food poisoning/stomach flew/something really bad that makes you throw-up and it's kind of upsetting to be caught up in a cold right after we get over it... Oh well. Life goes on. At least I still have five days to recover (yes, it's six days until my birthday but I'm going to see a really awesome Broadway-style musical on the 6th and then I'm going to see that Movie Dear Sister and I made with some friends so I want to be healthy by then).

Even though I was feeling sick this morning, I still had enough energy to make some pancakes. Unfortunately, after I mixed the dry ingredients it turned out that we didn't have any apple sauce! Mom said I should substitute it with pumpkin, and I did... It was a real pain trying to cook the pancakes as the batter starts to cook the moment it touches the pan (if it's made with pumpkin, that is) and it was so thick and goopy that it was virtually impossible to spread it around...
Still, by some miracle the pancakes turned out absolutely delicious--even better than the original!--and we ate them with strawberries and maple syrup (mixed with soy milk, cinnamon, and vanilla). Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.... I just thought I'd post about this.

(another random something to post) Every time Dear Sister and I get sick, (at least sick in the sense where you can't talk without hurting your throat) I realise how close we are. We can just talk, without talking, and know what the other means just by looking at one another, and we can sign things, or just lip-sync... Even Mom or Dad can have troubles with what we're saying, but I can almost always get it, and she can as well. It's just really nice to know that you're bonded with someone like that. It makes me happy.

Anyway, I guess that's it!!! Wish me well!

5. The strangest person/character I've had lewd thoughts about was what the heck is a lewd thought? Is that something weird? I could us a definition, if anyone knows one.

1. Dancing to music while while I clean makes me happier and more efficient (I think!).

2. The last time I was hugged by Brother1 I nearly died from joy.

3. When I drive it's in my dreams. I'm gonna have to wait to do it for real for another two or three years .

4. I saw a show with this dog standing in the middle of the road which caused them to crash (I really don't know what else I can fill in here...).

5. Give me a long, happy life, give me loads of family time, and give me a great week! (hopefully a healthy one!).

6. Next week I am looking forward to my birthday being even closer.

And I refuse to answer the seventh on Sunday. Gosh, I really need to remember to do this...

My B-day song from Rose and why I haven't been posting

Happy Birthday to thee,
You're going to be,
A big 1 and a big 3,
Happy Birthday to ye!!!

This song was so cute and made me smile so much I had to post it.

Anyway, why haven't I been posting?
Well, it started when Brother1 threw up, then Dear Sister started feeling sick, then Mommy threw up, then Daddy started getting sick, then Rosi my dearest sister threw up... anyway, I was the only healthy one and my whole family could barely stand on their two feet. The following night I'm sure wasn't quite as bad for me as them, but it was really, really, really bad for me. People needed so much of my help and I was so tired and my joints (I think that I've mentioned I've been having some awful joint pain since July 6th-ish, but I'm not certain) were killing me, but my wonderful family needed me so much... seeing them like that was awful for me. I felt like crying. It got so bad that Daddy decided to take Monday (the next day) off.

Poor Brother1 was in such pain that after he threw up in the bathroom, he didn't leave and ended up sleeping on the bathroom floor. No one else was much better.

I slept here and there as much as I could, but I didn't get to close my eyes for good until 6:00am. Seriously.

Anyway, to make matters worse, the next day I got sick. It was horrible. I thought I was going to die... I almost wanted to. I threw up a total of three times that day, and thank goodness that was it. On this day everyone was feeling at least a little better (besides me of course)... Brother1 was great, and was almost up to his old high spirits. Dear Sister was okay, Mommy was still bad, but better, and Daddy was pretty good, but still sick.

We weren't really completely well until today, and even today we suffer from after effects (especially Mommy). One really sad thing is that by sitting around being sick, my joints got extra stiff, and now that I can move again, they really really hurt! Even typing this post causes pain.

Well, there was Rose's cute song, and my excuse for not posting. Hopefully none of you had this horrible disease/food poisoning/what ever it is!!!

Learning Latin

A while ago Mommy bought some Latin books, and I finally opened one yesterday. It was geared towards homeschoolers like me, and it was very interesting, well done and fun! I really really enjoyed learning the words... they sounded so nice and fit all together, and it was really cool to see words like 'Agricola(sp?)' (which sounds to me a lot like agriculture) for Farmer, and 'Non' (with a little mark-y thing above the 'o', it sounds like 'no' with an 'n' at the end) for 'Not', and 'Poeta' for 'Poet'... you could really tell our language was somehow related.
Not only that, but the book was just plain fun! I loved the way the author did it, and I'm very excited about "Getting Started With Latin", both the book and actually doing it.

One annoying thing about Latin is that most words don't have to be in a specific order, so 'I am a sailor' or 'a sailor I am' mean the same thing, 'Nauta sum', and 'Sum nauta' ('sum' means 'I am', and nauta means 'sailor'). It was a relief reaching 'Non' though, as it actually has a rule: Place it before the verb!

And now, for my closing sentence, I would like to mention that I learned a rather famous saying in this forgotten tongue: Cogito(sp?) Ergo Sum!!! (I think, therefore I am)

My First Birthday is Coming Up!!!

Obviously I don't mean my first birthday, as I am quite apparently over the first year, what I do mean is my first birthday while I'm on blogger.

What am I going do for it? Well, I'm probably going to have a mostly family party, though I may have a couple friends over. I'm probably going to watch movies, play board games, go swimming, eat junk food (though I have no intentions of "taking a break" from my Vegan diet) and open some presents from Dear Sister, and a few other peoples...

Anyway, my birthday is on September 7th... I always thought that was a very beautiful sounding date, I mean, sept, ember, sev, enth... it sounds like some sort of elven tongue. Not only that, but September means seven! It turns out September used to be the seventh month, but then someone added others in, so now it's not in the right spot. Anyway, the intersting thing is that my birthday date translates to Seven Seventh!

Well, I guess that's it! I just thought I'd post about my excitment for my 13th Birthday!

P.S. And how could I forget? I'm going to have lots of coconut... lots and lots of coconut!

The Evil Mailman

Dear Sister had just arrived home from checking the mail and we were talking about it when Brother1 says:

"Is the Mailman a Bad Guy?"

"No," I reply, "Why would you say that?"

"Then why does he try to steal our mail?"

I laughed and laughed...

Another Music Video

I had so much fun doing the last one (please read previous post) that I decided to do another! This one was much harder than the last one since in order to do make my vision of 'Hey Baby' I needed bunches of sims, and it was really hard to get them to do what I wanted.

Eventually, I got the video to look pretty good and I showed it to my fam. Dear Sister and Mommy liked it, but Daddy not so much. He did like the 'DJ' parts (which I thought were really cool myself) and a couple other points though. Well, I hope you like this! Enjoy!

Do comment what you think, if you can!

My First Music Video and Movie Editing

Hey All!!!

I'm a Simadict, as you probably know if you regularly read my blog, and last night I was listening to one of Lisa Loeb's songs-- "Do You Sleep?" from her album "Tails", and you probably know that too, if you read my blog regularly.

Anyway, I thought it would be cool to make a Music Video for it with the Sims, so I listened to that song and thought about what I would do, and this morning I built the sets on the 'house building' mode, I made the Sims I was going to use in the film in 'family mode', and shot the necessary scenes. It was a lot of fun.

After that was done I opened up 'Windows Movie Maker' and edited the scenes... cutting, arranging, music coordinating.... that was even more fun than the filming! When I was finally done I hit the button to make it a movie on our computer, and it CRASHED!!! Thankfully, there was an auto save shortly before then, so it wasn't too much of a loss.

Well, here it is, the finished product! My favorite part of making it was the movie editing, though the crash was REALLY annoying!

Hope you enjoy!

Friday Fillins #16

There you go. That's how pathetic I am. Well, here's my Friday Fillins on Sunday. Enjoy! (if you want to do your own, look for the link on my side-bar)

1. If I could travel back in time, I'd go to to the past and talk to my grandfather.
2. Give me a home-made hazelnut smoothie or give me She Spies/Earth 2! (or both!!!)
3. I am listening to my MP3 player--now that I found it. (with songs by Lisa Loeb--she is SOOOOO awesome!!!!!!!--as well as Boulevard of Broken Dreams, Thanks for the Memories, Head Over Feet, Girls Just Wanna Have Fun (my dad's favorite line was always: "When the workin' day is done, girls just wanna have fun"), Paralyzer, stuff from the Phantom of the Opera...).
4. Somewhere, someone is thinking I have the best life ever, and that would be me.
5. I'll always be happy, because I'll never be alone, because I have the best family ever, and I can always turn to them no matter what happens.
6. My idea of a good time includes bunches of laughter, loud music (usually, not always), board games, movies, friends/family...

I'm skipping #7 this week. It's hard to answer that one on Sunday!

...spinning fast and freely...

I was going to drop off one of my Netflix videos in the mail box, singing the song I always do when I'm going to the mail box:

Two little princesses,
Dancing in a row,
Spinning fast and freely,
On their little toes,
Where the light take/find
(which one I say depends on my mood ) them,
No one ever knows/There's only one way to know, (again with the mood)
Two little princesses,
Dancing in a row,
Spinning fast and freely,
On their little toes,
Where the light will take them,
No one ever knows,
Two little princesses...(etc. etc.)

To end the song, you hold the last note (row...) and... er, make kind of mysterious sounding? Ominous? It's hard to describe. Anyway, I got that song from 'Tin Man'. (it's a mini series which is basically the Wizard of Oz--futuristic style. Instead of Oz, we've got the O.Z. (Outer Zone), instead of Dorothy Gale, we have D.G.... stuff like that. It was a good show, with a good theme, and was very interesting, though at times it went a little over the edge in morality... or, rather, violence? No, it was just the pain you see people in... it's hard to describe.)

Anyway, I was going to the mail box singing my little song. I put the D.V.D. into the mail, I turned around and starting walking home, then, I noticed my shadow. I started watching it. I had been walking for a while when turned my head, and my hair bounced in front of my shoulders and I saw little curl ups at the bottom of my some-what strait hair. I started shifting as I walked so I could see the curls bouncing around. It looked really pretty. And then I started spinning, using my ballet trick of spotting (keeping your head in one place as long as possible then whipping it around) so I could keep my eyes on my shadow. And then I stopped looking at my shadow, and was singing proudly and happily and was dancing across the street towards my house, spinning and spinning and skipping... somehow I got passed my joint pain for then, (I'd taken my Ibuprofen(sp?) and I'd been moving around for a while. That helps a little.) and continued up to my door, where I finished the song with one happy note and burst into my house, with a big grin. I felt really good.

I don't know why I'm posting about this, I just felt like it. It was a good experience.

Brother2's Birthday '08

Brother2's b-day was loads of fun! I had a grand time.

When I got up I played sims until the boy awoke. We showed him Dear Sister's Present (one gigantic cardboard box--from Daddy's work--a long with two smaller ones put together with doors, windows and furnishings. The little guy loved it! And I mean loved it!!! He would play peekaboo with the doors and windows, he would open and close the windows that could open and close and poke his adorable face out of the others, he would play around and go in and out of his 'bedroom' (a small box with a pillow floor coming out of the main one). It was adorable.

Then he took a nap.

When Daddy got home, Brother1 showed the my tiny 1-year-old the 'borthday' card he'd made for him. Brother2 loved that as well! He looked at the card and laughed his little baby laugh and chewed the card...

And then we brought out presents. We needed to show him what to do and help him here and there, but I think he got the idea. Halfway through opening the first he wanted to nurse. So he did, then he went on opening--only a different one! The one he opened first (not the one he started first, but the one he completed) was a little wagon-ish thing he could push around. He loved that. He got inside and wouldn't get out. It was sooooooooooo adorable!
Then he finished his other one, which was a plastic thing with boats and a lift to transport stuff. It's hard to describe. Brother2 found that interesting, but was more excited for the wagon-ish thing.

We played with the little guy, but eventually he tired. We watched some stuff on Netflix while he slept and then went to bed.

Today, when I asked Brother1 if he enjoyed Brother2's birthday, he said:
"I wish it would never END!"
I smiled. I almost had too.

P.S. Guess who's b-day is next in line in my clan? MINE!!! hehe.
