The Longest Hookie Game Ever

Okay, it started out with just skipping one day of ballet. There's nothing wrong with that, right? Well, then the next class we skipped too. Then the one after that Mom was feeling sick... then the one after that we skipped so we could prepare for a slumber party. And this one, we over-slept!

Really! I don't think I've missed this many Ballet Classes in a row all my life!!!

*sigh and headshake at self*

Sunshine

Earlier today Mommy and Nana took us (us being me and my sibs) outside and set up our kiddy pool and slip 'n slide. It was pretty hot.
Dear Sister and I sunbathed a bit before we finally waded in the kiddy pool. Then we went in the slip 'n slide. I did it really well, and after a couple tries, so did Rosi. I had a lot of fun.

By the time I was ready to come in, I felt really good, even though it was... what? 98 degrees? I mean, I could still feel the heat, but it felt great. Then I opened the door to the inside, and it was FREEZING! I ended up waiting outside a bit before finally getting in. And when I was in, I felt really really good. The sun just puts me in a good mood, I guess. Even now I feel warm and content.

I love summer!

Rulers of Night

He he he... a.k.a. 'Kings of Darkness'!

I haven't been doing much on K.o.D. since I reached the 100 marker, but all of that has now changed. I'm on #119 and quite excited!

I'm trying to keep the characters and story light-hearted, (unlike some other books I know--Pirate Curse, I'm looking at you!) as I've read enough dark and dreary ones, though some darkness does have to creep in here and there--I mean, it's called 'Kings of Darkness' for goodness sake!

Anyway, I'm not sure if I've told you yet, but there are going to be four books (unless of course this series gets really popular and I miss May and Darren and Gloria and Fredric and I need to come up with some kind of sequel through another series).

If you remember, a long time ago I said I was considering making Glorsifil a whole different world, and adding in magical creatures? Well I did. Now there are Mers (the general term for mermaids and mermen), Dragons, Fairies... and that's about all I've added so far. I might do Harpies later, but besides that, I can't think of anything else... (remember, I'm open for ideas! Any magical-creature suggestions will be welcome!) But anyhow, they're all really cool.

Anyway, that's about all I have to say for now! Bye!

Iya

Brother2 is starting to talk (you know, stuff like 'Mama', 'Hi', 'Hello', 'Hi There'...) and just today, he called out:
"Iya!"
It turned out he was talking to me. Yep, that's right, Brother2 is calling me Iya.

It is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO CUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUTE!
The whole 'Iya' thing reminds me of when Brother1 was calling Dear Sister 'Bobby'... that was pretty cute too. He's grown out of it now, though.

Lucky for my, Iya is a lot better than 'Bobby', so I can actually live with it. I can actually like it. He gave me his own name... it makes me feel really good... like he really really loves me... I really really love him.

Friday Fillins #10

1. A smile is one of the most wonderful things in the world. (especially on my brothers!)
2. Whodunnit (it's like Clue only more complicated) is my favorite board or card game.(at the moment!)
3. I would love to have more playing with friends and family in my life and less work... oh well.
4. When I think of the Summer Solstice, I think of the center of a calendar, and written on that square is 'Summer Solstice', and I feel flowers... I know it's weird, but I really do feel the flowers, not see them.
5. I just remembered I need to put my Ballet stuff away.
6. One of my favorite song lyrics goes like this: "The Bridge is crossed so stand and watch it burn, we've passed the point of no return..." I just thought it was really clever. It's from 'The Phantom of the Opera', 'Passed the Point of No Return'. I'm sure there are some lyrics I like better, but I just can't think of anything else right now...
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I’m looking forward to hanging out, tomorrow my plans include watching Doctor Who (hooray!), and Sunday, I want to RELAX!

To do your own 'Friday Fillins', go to the Friday Fillins blog. I have a link to it on my side bar.

Friday the 13th

I can't believe I almost missed this! I love Friday the 13th! Don't ask me why... I just do. They're really really cool.
It's weird that lots of people think that Friday the 13th is unlucky, as today was actually a rather good day. I had a lot of fun, even though there was some work involved in the preparation for Dear Sister's B-Day (OH MY GOSH OH MY GOSH OH MY GOSH!).

So... I hope your Friday the 13th was thourouly un-unlucky!

The Crazy Dream I Had Last Night

Okay, so I was Harry Potter, and I was at Nana's House, and Lord Voldemort (sp?) and his Minions were attacking, and then I was me again, and Mom and Dad had to stay to protect the place (there were other good wizards fighting, too) but Dear Sister, Brother2 and I had to leave.
Now, Nana's house is on the top of a hill, and frequently I dream of going down that hill and it being really steep and scary. This was one of those dreams. We were running down the super-steep-hill and then it became almost vertical so Rose and I jumped and somehow Brother2 was with us. So now we were sliding down this vertical rode... down, down, down! It was super scary. And then the scariest: There was no rail to this super-steep-and-scary road, and Dear Brother2 (who is ten months now) was starting to slide towards the edge. So Dear Sis and I were trying to keep him from falling off, as we were falling down, down, down!!! I was so scared... And then Rose was holding Brother2, but not really because it wasn't secure at all and I was trying to get her to hold him better, but we were falling so fast and I couldn't think strait and she couldn't hear me well because of the roaring wind, and then we came to the bottom and finally stopped sliding.
The road stretched out in front of us for about 150 feet then turned left, and about 90 feet forwards there was road coming from the right that met up with this road. Everything else was grass.
About 50 feet forwards in the grass there was this tree, and I thought Rose and I could climb it to get a better view of everything to see if we could find help. (because Nana's house was very far away now)
So we made our way to the tree and climbed it, and when we were high enough I saw that by where the road turned left, about 100 feet into the turn there was a cute little house, and I was just about to suggest that we go there when I realized that there were these huge creepy bald guys (at least six) with white tee-shirts, padded black leather armless shirts and black pants that could have been black leather, or black jeans. They were moving all around that cute little house and something about them made me decide to stay away.
But then Rose saw a girl walking along the road where the house was carrying grocery bags. She looked nice enough, so we called out to her, and she pointed towards the cute-little-house with the really-super-scary-guys-wearing-leather (EEEEEEEEWWW!).
Not knowing what else to do, we climbed down the tree and suddenly we were there, but it wasn't like we just appeared there, I just didn't dream about that part.
Somehow Mom was with us (thank goodness!) and she was holding Brother2, and the scary guys weren't really that bad. The woman who owned the house was really nice, but the inside of the house was really dirt and unkempt.
So Mommy called Nana to pick us up (which is funny since we JUST CAME from Nana's house) and she picked us up and I think I woke up somewhere along there... It was a weird dream.

So... if for some strange reason you have questions, feel free to comment!

Count-Down REALLY Continues

Tomorrow is the day! I am so excited! It's going to be so much fun!

Mom and Dad are planning out a whole spy 'mission' for Dear Sister, Steffi, Froggy (you might recognize her name from comments. Her blog is restricted, so don't try to get there) Froggy's Brother (who isn't just coming because he's 'Froggy's Brother', it's just I don't know what else to call him so he can be anonymous) and myself!
Dear Sister is having quite a candy-filled (vegan candy, of coarse. And I tell you, 99.9% of it is home made) party! I'd tell you about all of it, but I have the feeling that Rose plans to do just that after her B-Day is over, or just as it starts. All I will tell you is that I made the Peanut Butter Cups (they came out beautifully!)! I've been bragging about them for a while, and I bet Dear Sister will roll her eyes when she reads that part!
So, I'm super excited, and not just for me; it's my baby sister's birthday (tomorrow)! She's going to be eleven! I can just feel how excited and happy she is, and I'm so very happy for her!

Anyway, I had a really weird dream and I plan to post about it later because I have no idea what else to do about it!

Well... that's it! Hope you're all having a good day!

The Sims 2

I've told you before that I'm a Simadict. All I could think of was Sims. I'd play it virtually everyday for hours. It was such a cool game!

But now, the adiction thins. I haven't played Sims in quite a while... Well, I did yesterday, for about half an hour, but that was just to make some characters in my story.
I don't know what caused it or anything, but I'm just not as syched about it as I used to be... Maybe when I get that new expantion pack (Freetime) I'll be addicted again...

A very lucky girl...

Some people wait their entire lives to find their dreams, and some people never find them. That's why I think I'm so lucky. I'm only 12 (almost 13!!!) and I've already lived my dream. I've learned to dance, I've performed in musicals and plays (and my Dancing helped a lot there) and done so many things I could only have dreamed of... but then they weren't just dreams. They were my life. I don't think that many 12-year-olds get to do this, and I feel so grateful and so lucky that this happened to me...
Not that this came without work... You wouldn't believe how hard dancing is... If you say it's easy, then you've never danced. Let me come over and I'll give you a free lesson. I guarantee sweat.

Anyway, back on topic....

Auditioning for plays was one of the scariest things I've ever done... you stand there, and they judge you! One day I was so frightened that when I was delivering my lines my hands were shaking. And trust me, I'm not exaggerating (but then I got double-casted as a lead so it didn't matter).

But really, all in all, it wasn't too much work. And the prize... the dream I've had as long as I can remember. I don't know what else to say. I'm just so grateful...

The Ballet Recital

It was amazing.

It's hard to feel more joy than when you are performing for people, pointing your feet and dancing on a stage... hearing them roar with applause as the blinding lights shine on you! I had an excellent time and performed my dance perfectly. I was so happy...
After the show, Mom said that she had been crying. She said that I looked like I was glowing, like I could do anything and everything and be happy to do it.

Well, I'll tell you this, that's just how I felt.

My Ballet Recital

This is a yearly thing that I look forwards to every year. In Ballet, we start practising for a dance that we'll perform on stage for our friends and family to show them what we learned this year. It's really awesome, as I love to perform.
Anyway, this year the theme for all the different levels is 'Dancing Through Time' (in other words, it's different dances at different times; renaissance, flappers...). My level and I are a 60s Prom. It's a really cool dance!

Yesterday was my tech-rehearsal, earlier today was my dress-rehearsal, and at 7:45 my first performance starts! (I have another Sunday) I simply CANNOT WAIT!!! I am SOOO excited!

Now please don't wish me luck, but I'll be glad to hear 'Break a leg!'!

Friday Fillins on Saturday!

I was really busy Friday so I couldn't post this, Mommy really wanted me to (and I did as well) so I'm doing it today! Here you go.

1. Idle hands are idle.
2. I love being in the shower.
3. My favorite time of the day is when I'm laughing and playing with family/friends.
4. The last tea I drank was quite delicious.
5. I like to SWIM(!) in the Summer.
6. My mother always said 'Better safe than sorry!'. (technically, she still says that, as she still is alive and I still am in her house)
7. And as for the weekend, Friday I went over to a friends house and did Tech-Rehearsal for my ballet recital, today my plans include dress-rehearsal and performance of my ballet recital (!), and Sunday, I want to hang out with family, do my second recital, and maybe go to a party!

Since this was meant to be on Friday, I had to do a little modifying. Sorry if it doesn't make sense because of it!

Vacation Post

Hey guys!

This is my over-due vacation post, and after much work, I decided not to do the pictures. If you do want to see them, go to the Picture Post on my Dear Sister's blog. Well, it all started Saturday, May 10th...

...with pack, pack, packing... the day before we had made some food and done most of the packing, but we still needed to gather a few things together.
Anyway, it took a while to get in the car, but we left around 12:30--about thirty minutes late! We drove and drove, and I passed the first part by thinking about things... it was really weird because I actually really enjoyed doing that. It was nice.
When we'd been driving for a bit, Mommy started reading aloud to all of us. It was a book written in journal format about a girl named Maria Antonia de Jesus who ran away from home and became a sailor--pretending to be a man, of course--taking place about 200 years ago. We were supposed to read it for a ship thing we were going to do, but I'll tell you about that later.
I really enjoyed listening to Mommy read, and the story was pretty good. Unfortunately, we didn't have time to finish it.
We arrived at the hotel in a rushed state. We really wanted to get the boat thing on time! We grabbed our luggage, checked in, and ran to our room... and oh, my, gosh(!!!), it was beautiful! My favorite part about it was the view... we had the best room in the ENTIRE hotel!
After we checked-in our room we ate, and Daddy, Dear Sister and I all ran to the this boat program thing where we sail on a ship like one that would have been around about 200 years ago (this ship we were going on was the Interceptor on 'Pirates of the Caribbean', by the way)! We arrived a little late, but we were the second family there, so it really didn't matter. It took a while for the others to arrive, but eventually they did.

I didn't throw-up, but I did get a little sea-sick, and so did Rose... but my most wonderful father did. But then, pretty much everyone threw up.
At one point on the trip they were asking us questions about what it was like 200 years ago on a ship like this, and I knew all the answers because of that story mom read us! No one else did! (Dear Sister would have, but she was on the rail being nauseous and didn't feel like answering questions)
My favorite part was when I was leaning over the deck and just looking out at that most beautiful sea as the ship rocked and rolled (it was a pretty wild ride)... it was just so beautiful...
Anyway, by the time we got off we were sopping, wet, a little sick and wishing for a hot bath... and that's when we remembered that jacuzzi(yes, we had a jacuzzi in the hotel)! We ran top speed to the car, called mommy (who had been hanging out on the beach with the boys) and told her to fill it up, and got there as fast as we could.
Once we were there, we lounged in the tub for a while, than went out to eat. We came back and swam around in the Hotel Pool for a while before finally retiring to bed. I was still pretty sick (I had a cold during this trip) so mom gave me some NiteTime and I was able to fall asleep pretty quickly (thank the lord for Nitetime).
When we got up, we alternated going to the beach (me and Dear Sister combed for sea-shells a lot--it was quite fun), eating food, swimming in the pool, looking at the view and just hanging out. We were having a great time. Afterwards, we went to this deli, but it wasn't open on Sundays! So we changed coarse to Fred Meyer's (a.k.a. Freddy's) and bought some frozen food--and some organic strawberries and waffles!
After we ate our frozen food, mommy combined the strawberries with some sugar so we could soak them overnight.
As sunset got closer, we decided to go for a walk along the beach and watch it. The clouds blocked the actual sun, but it still was absolutely wonderful.
The next morning we ate waffles with strawberries, almond butter and jelly. It was really good. We went to the beach one last time and eventually left the hotel. After which we bought some candy and made our way home.

It was a fabulous vacation. I really can't wait until our next one!

The Last Day

Hey guys!

Wow, I haven't been blogging much, have I? And I STILL haven't posted that vacation post... I'll try to get it done before '09!

Anyway, today is my last day of Ballet for this ballet 'year' (we'll start again in a week or two, only it will be the summer session--which is only three days a week). My recital is coming up and I just CAN'T WAIT! Of course, it would be much, much better if I could do it on pointe... You see, last Friday my teacher decided which ones of us could do our dance in pointe shoes (going up on your tip toes in special shoes) and I was one of the three who couldn't. The sad thing is, I really, really wanted to do it, and I tried so hard... I broke two toe nails and got a blister trying. The Teacher talked to the entire class saying that we'd probably get to do it next year, but all I could think was I can't do it THIS year, I can't do THIS dance... Even sadder, some of the people who CAN do it don't want to at all! *sigh* Life isn't fair.

So, instead of blogging, I've been doing a lot of drawing... and actually being slightly pleased at the results. I try to post some pictures I drew later :-)

Well... I'll post later!
