In just fifteen days...

...my most wonderful sister is turning 11! Oh, my, gosh... I remember when it was hard to believe she was four :-(... But you know what? After she turns eleven, then we will be only one year apart(okay, so that isn't quite right, but it feels that way so I'm saying it. Ha.)!
Anyway, she's planning on having a secret agent party and is quite excited about it. She's a fabulous, wonderful, beautiful, loving, sweet and the-best-sister-I-could-ever-have, and I only have one thing to tell her:

Happy Birthday, Dearest Rose!!!

Friday Fillins #8

1. For me not listening to other peoples ideas and suggestions--having a closed mind--is the opposite of creativity.
2. The book I'm reading right now (The Siren Song--the sequel to the Shadow Theives) was the last excellent book I read.
3. I like Friday fill-ins because it's just plain fun to fill in the blanks.
4. In nature I like looking at flowers, lush green fields, beautiful mountains with snowy tops with a deep blue sky and trees along the base with a roaring river rushing down, down down... the ocean tossing and turning along a sandy shore on sunset, sunrise or any time of day, the inside of a forest with the moon shining through or the sun making beautiful green light through the leaves as I walk to a little clearing with a pond... as you can see, it's quite a long list. I love nature.
5. Ron Paul should win the US elections.
6. The last time I laughed with all my belly was the last time my mom was in hysterics, the last time my dad tickled me to death, the last time one of my brothers made an adorable face or anything like that, the last time Dear Sister and I had a really good gossip... I can't remember which came latest.
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to watching a D.S.9, tomorrow my plans include watching Doctor Who and going to Ballet, and Sunday, I want to exercise! No, I'm just kidding! Relax of course.

Well, that was my Friday Fillins! Look on the side-bar for a link.

Friday Fillins #7

1. On my laziest day I like to sit, read and blog!
2. Getting stuff DONE makes me feel like I'm being productive.
3. I love little baby things--they're just sooo cute!!!--and big hugs.
4. This summer I want to learn to swim... it's true, I can sort of swim, but I'm not very confident in my abilities and I cannot take breathes... yet.
5. Mom made me start my blog*.
6. Red is very pretty and orange is my Mommy's favorite color.
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to going to a friends house, tomorrow my plans include watching 'Doctor Who' and Sunday, I want to do I even have to fill this in? Relax!

Well... there's my Friday Fillins! Have a nice weekend!

Rainy Reading

Yesterday, me and the Fam went outside together. As you know, I'm a bookworm and I had my nose in a particularly good book, and I just couldn't bare to leave it. So I took it outside with me and sat in my favorite reading spot (I have this swing set with a tarp over it, and supporting the tarp are some vertical beams, one beam is connected to the horizontal wood plank that goes over the slide. What I do is sit on the beam over the slide, and lean my back on the beam holding the tarp up) My knee stuck out in the rain, and I could hear and see it as well, but the book was safe and dry under the tarp. I sat like this--slightly cold and pretty dry--for quite some time as I read The Secret of the Sirens (yes, another one of those books with Greek Mythology in it). It was very relaxing. Then Brother1 came and he wanted to play with me--the rest of my family had gone back inside--so we played Marco Polo for a while, and then we played tag, and then we went back under the tarp and it began raining harder. Brother1 wanted to run around outside, but he didn't have a coat on, and he was scared of getting wet. So I gave him my black sweater and these careful instructions:
"Go inside with this jacket on, Sweetie, and ask mommy to get your coat and put it on you. Then come back out with my jacket and give it to me."
Brother1 agreed, and I put my jacket on his cute little self. It was then I remembered I was wearing a thin short-sleeved and that my pants didn't quite go down all the way and the socks I was wearing were anklets. The sweater had been the only thing keeping me from freezing! Oh well, I thought, I'll just grin and bear it. This is for my little brother, you know. And so I braved the cold as my little brother ran to the house in that over-sized jacket. That image alone was worth it.
So I began to read again, and yes, I got colder, but it wasn't bad at all. The rain was wonderful and I felt... good! I was almost glad to be without my jacket; I felt closer to nature somehow. The only thing that would have made this better was if the swing set was a huge tree and I was looking out at a beautiful valley...
It took Brother1 a loooong time to get back, but when he did he was adorable as usual. He ran up to me and gave me my jacket, shortly after deciding to go inside. I stayed out reading until dinner was almost ready and my peoples needed some help.

Rainy Reading is really a wonderful experience. This may seem like nothing much to post about, but I really feel like I should... weird, eh?

Oranges and Apples

Once upon a time Qacei tagged a girl named Galaxy with an ABC blog tag thing. In that blog tag thing, one of the questions she had to answer was: Oranges or Apples? She thought it was NO CONTEST and chose Apples... and I agree with her on that there is NO CONTEST, but, I'm afraid that she is dreadfully wrong on the other aspect--ORANGES are the BEST!

What has caused this sudden change of heart? Well, if you have been reading my blog, than you will know that before we left from our vacation I had a really bad cold, and that my throat was killing me. There was one savior: Oranges. I know this sounds weird, but Oranges while you have a sore throat is like a hot shower when you have chicken pox! It was a miracle, and it tasted fabulous! I practically lived on oranges... it was wonderful!

So now, I love oranges. I really really do. They're totally amazing!

Galaxy

Sorry!

Well... I haven't posted in two weeks! I think that's a record... Why haven't I been posting?
  1. I've been working on that Vacation post, and it's a real pain. So I just stopped working on it for a while (I'll get it finished and posted soon, don't worry!), and it didn't seem right to post without it.
  2. Another thing, I just didn't feel like it. I was reading, and Drawing, and watching American Idol (DAVID COOK WON!!! YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!--I love David Cook, he is SO awesome!) and making brownies and hanging out and reading in the rain (which I will post about... it is quite lovely. And as you've probably guessed, I did read many books in May... I just haven't posted them on my book blog. Lazy, lazy lazy.) and just doing stuff.

So, I'm back(!)... and you can expect many more posts this day.

2. I like wind blowing through my windows.
3. Right now, I need sleep... if only I wasn't sick...
4. HOME is where I went Thursday night; it was sickly.
5. Why does my nose hurt so much?
6. All I can think of is the The Phantom of the Opera.
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to sleeping, tomorrow my plans include going on our mini vacation (see earlier post) and Sunday, I want to go swimming!

Have a nice weekend!

'Vacation'

This weekend we're going to go up to the coast!!! Isn't that fabulous?!?!?!

What started all of this? Well...

Mommy found this thing where you could go on a ship for three hours. It sounded like fun so Daddy, Dear Sister and I signed up!
After that, we thought since we were so close we should stop by the coast... and one thing led to another so we decided that we would stay there for the entire weekend! It was a little a lot stressful picking out a hotel, but eventually we decided on one. (we're really excited because (drum roll please) it has a (bigger drum roll please) (okay, one more gigantic drum roll please) SWIMMING POOL!!! And of coarse, if you know me, you know I'll be taking full advantage of it!)

On a bad note:
  1. I'm sick (it started Thursday)... we think it's the sickness Mom, Dear Sister, Brother1 & 2 had, but we're not certain.
  2. The weather is supposed to be cold and rainy!!! It's just sooooo sad... oh well.
  3. To add insult to injury, the next weekend is supposed to be just beautiful... unfortunately, the Ship thing won't be there then.

On a good note:

  1. I'm not feeling so bad that I can't go.
  2. We'll still have fun... and we always have that swimming pool!
  3. Who knows who we'll meet there... maybe I'll make a new friend?
  4. We're all going together and that's sure to be fun.
  5. IIIIIII CAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN'T WAAAAAAAAAAAAAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (I can't wait)

Well... I guess that's all I have to say! I probably won't be posting over the weekend, so...

Bye!

This is a true story:

Once upon a time there was a girl named Galaxy who had a blog. She really liked having a blog and had a lot of fun making it cool.
One day, she decided, since her blog was called 'Galaxy', she should put a picture of the Milkyway up on her header. She found, like, the awesomeist picture ever and put it up. The size was all wrong so she changed it, and the size was still wrong so she changed it. She changed it and changed it and finally, finally it fit... unfortunately, with all the resizing it became quite distorted and ugly.
Now the poor, poor Galaxy took her awesomeist picture of the Milkyway off of her blog because now it looked really, really bad. The girl was very sad. Then she decided she would post about it because she didn't know what else to say.

The End.

Galaxy's Pudin' Filled Crusties

Here is a recipe I invented. I've tried it many times and it's become a family favorite... hope you like it!!!

COOKIE CRUST:

Dry Ingredients:

2 cups flour
1 cup sugar
½ tsp baking powder
¼ tsp salt
⅓ cup powdered walnuts

Wet Ingredients:

⅓ cup water
¼ cup apple sauce
2 tsp vanilla

FILLING:

1½ cup crumbled tofu
⅔ cup cane sugar
⅓ cup carob powder
2 tsp vanilla
Pinch of salt

Dark chocolate chips for garnish (optional).

Cookie Crust:

1: Place the dry ingredients in a large mixing boll and stir well.
2: Place the wet ingredients in a medium mixing boll and stir well.
3: Preheat the oven to 350oF
4: Poor the dry ingredients into the wet and mix well.
5: Take a small portion of the dough, roll into a ball and flatten on a cookie sheet. Repeat until the cookie sheet is covered. Place the crusts in the oven for fifteen minutes.

Filling:

1: Boil a small pan of water and place one tofu in it for five minutes. Crumble the needed amount and place it in the blender.
2: Place the remaining ingredients in the blender and blend until smooth and creamy.

Puddin’ Filled Crusties:

1: When the crusts are done let them cool slightly and then remove from the cookie sheet with a pancake flipper.
2: Spread a very thick layer of the filling in the middle and fold the other end of the crust over; garnish with the chocolate chips (optional).

Serve immediately.

Approximately five Crusties.

Galaxy’s Tips:

The filling should be blended for a long time before stopping. That way the filling will as smooth and creamy as possible—but be sure not to blend too long, as the filling will stop being creamy and become pasty.

How to write a song in ten easy steps:

  1. Invent a melody. You really have to memorize it, I'd recommend to record it on your computer/MP3/Ipod/Tape Recorder/whatever you have on hand so you can be sure to have this melody for later steps.
  2. Think of some adjectives describing the melody that you just came up with. (one melody might sound: sad, longing and waiting, while another might sound: joyous and excited)
  3. Use those adjectives to decide what type of song you're writing. Work off of them and your melody to write the lyrics.
  4. Now you either have the chorus or a verse of your song. Work off of the lyrics and melody you already have and write another verse, or the chorus.
  5. Repeat step 4 until completion of the lyrics.
  6. Add new melodies where necessary (you must base it after the first one).
  7. Sing through your song and fix any remaining bugs.
  8. Name your song. (When in doubt you can use common lyrics from your song, an adjective describing the song, an emotion felt in the song, or some common words in the chorus or verses)
  9. Sing your song to a relative or close friend and ask for advice. You'd be surprised what a help they can be.
  10. Record your completed song to your computer/MP3/Ipod/Tape Recorder/whatever you have on hand .

Congrats on your new song!

Friday Fillins #5

It's time for Friday Fillins!

1. Two of my favorite ingredients in a drink are Hazelnuts and Carob/Chocolate Powder (in one of mom's smoothies)!
2. Dancers often amaze me.
3. You can keep doing that forever, the dog is asleep.
4. Stir the dry ingredients together, mix the wet ingredients (replace oil with applesauce--really, it works), pour the wet into the dry, mix it all together and voila! You have fabulous brownies!.
5. If I had a yard with a garden, I would love to grow veggies.
6. The dirty dozen is best au (what is au???) natural.
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to working on a musical with Dear Sister, tomorrow my plans include going to ballet, and Sunday, I want to don't you know? RELAX!!!

Why haven't I been posting?

The answer's rather simple: My fams been sick (I have been spared, thank goodness!) and dear Mommy has been hit the worst... Rosi and Brother1 got hit rather bad, but they've gotten over it mostly. Brother2 has it as well, but he's doing much better than he has been... it was so sad seeing a little baby like that!
Anyway, that's one reason... the main one is that I've been having problems thinking of something to post! (as I'm sure you've guessed)

So what's been up with me? Rose and I are writing a musical and we're really excited about it! (if only we could think of what it's about!) Kings of Darkness is coming along... slowly, I've been going to ballet regularly, and I went to my second class of Salsa/Swing dance Thursday. Life has been pretty good, I just wish the fam wasn't so sick...

Well... until next post!
